is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia's most iconic coastal landscapes.
We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites.
Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‐term conservation.
About the Role
The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Lightstation Attendants to join our team at the iconic Cape Otway Lightstation.
This is a truly varied role where no two days are the same.
As a frontline team member, you will help create memorable experiences for visitors while supporting the day-to-day operation of the Lightstation precinct.
From welcoming guests and selling tickets to preparing coffees, maintaining accommodation and ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional service in one of Victoria's most unique coastal destinations.
What You'll Do
As a Lightstation Attendant, you will:
Welcome, assist and engage with visitors, providing a friendly and informative customer experience
Support ticket sales, retail transactions and guest enquiries
Assist with guest accommodation check-in and check-out procedures
Prepare and serve coffee, beverages and light café offerings
Operate cash registers and EFTPOS facilities
Maintain high standards of cleanliness across accommodation, public amenities, café spaces and visitor facilities
Complete housekeeping duties including room servicing, bed making,



laundering and general cleaning
Monitor stock levels and replenish cleaning supplies, linen, merchandise and café products
Assist with opening and closing procedures and site security requirements
Coordinate with team members to support visitor arrivals and daily operations
Respond professionally to customer feedback, maintenance requests and general enquiries
Contribute to a safe workplace by following Occupational Health and Safety procedures
What We're Looking For
We're looking for positive, reliable team players who enjoy working with people and take pride in delivering excellent customer service.
You will bring:
Experience in hospitality, tourism, accommodation or customer service environments
A strong commitment to providing exceptional visitor experiences
Practical cleaning and housekeeping experience
Barista or coffee-making experience
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Solid organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A proactive and flexible approach to work
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Knowledge of safe manual handling practices and workplace safety procedures
The following qualifications and licences are highly desirable:
Current First Aid Certificate
Food Handling Certificate
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)



Certificate
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of Australian work rights, complete a National Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check.
