Job Description
HY & OB PTY LTD trading as Support Genie About the Role We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Residential Care Officers (preferable female) to join our SIL services in the Willetton and Shelley areas.
The Residential Care Officer is responsible for providing care, supervision, and support to participants in a group housing environment, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, independence, and participation in daily living and structured support programmes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Provide day to day care and supervision in accordance with individual support plans, organisational procedures, and participant's needs Assist participants with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meals, and mobility support while respecting their dignity and privacy.
Performing complex manual handling tasks, including full hoist transfers and repositioning for pressure care.
Supporting bowel care and incontinence management, including recognising when escalation or additional support is required interpreting and responding to non-verbal communication cues to identify pain, discomfort, or unmet needs Monitor participant wellbeing, behaviour, and functioning, and promptly report any concerns or changes to the care coordinator Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes, incident reports, observations, and care records Support participants to develop independence, routines, life skills, and social participation Assist with planned activities, structured programs, and community or social engagement Maintain a secure living environment and comply with WHS, infection control, and safeguarding requirements Work collaboratively with colleagues,
health professionals, families, and other stakeholders Mandatory Selection Criteria Current NDIS Worker Screening Check Diploma in Community Services (or higher) Minimum two (2) years experience FT equivalent (or ****hrs) in residential disability services supporting individuals with complex needs under the NDIS framework Current Working
With Children Check Current First Aid and CPR certification Full Australian work rights - need to include a copy of your paperwork (passport, visas) Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including Sleep Over Shifts Ability to prepare Oriental style daily meals Current or completed training in: Infection control Mealtime dysphagia management Manual handling Medication administration (competency required) Desirable Skills and Attributes Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to accurately document observations and follow individual support plans
