About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established private inpatient mental health hospital in Perth.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment while enjoying genuine flexibility in your working arrangements.
The role focuses on the management of adult private inpatients, with continuity of care through outpatient follow-up as clinically appropriate.
You will work alongside experienced nursing, allied health and medical teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Full-time is preferred; however, part time applicants are strongly encouraged to apply, with flexible working hours available to suit your lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for private inpatients.
Manage patient admissions, treatment planning, medication management and discharge planning.
Conduct regular inpatient reviews and outpatient follow-up appointments following discharge.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Provide clinical leadership and treatment direction to nursing and allied health staff.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Participate in an after-hours on-call roster for patients under your care, with nursing staff providing initial triage.
Respond to clinical emergencies when required.




Ensure appropriate clinical handover and continuity of care during periods of leave.
Contribute to continuous quality improvement and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and clinical governance.
About You
You are a compassionate and experienced psychiatrist who is passionate about delivering outstanding mental health care in an inpatient setting.
You will have:
Specialist Registration (Psychiatry) with AHPRA.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or eligibility for specialist registration.
Strong clinical skills in the assessment and management of adult mental health conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
A commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
Strong organisational and documentation skills.
