Join St Andrew's as our Business Intelligence Lead and help shape the future of analytics, reporting, automation, and data governance while influencing decisions at every level of the organisation.
The position requires strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, executives, and external partners at all levels of the organisation.
You will also need to lead and mentor the BI team.
Our preference is for the role to be based in Perth with hybrid flexibility.

What will you be accountable for?
Business IntelligenceEnsure management information is accurate, complete, reconciled, timely, and fit for purpose.Improve reporting production processes by leveraging analytical tools, automation,



and best-practice methodologies.Create and maintain business information solutions for business stakeholders.Establish and maintain management information procedures and documentation.Work closely with business stakeholders to identify emerging reporting requirements and data needs.
Microsoft Fabric Platform Administration and DevelopmentDesign, develop, and support enterprise data pipelines and orchestration processes.Build and maintain scalable data transformation solutions and medallion architecture frameworks.Develop and support dataflows, notebooks, semantic models, warehouse solutions, and automation processes.Administer and maintain the Microsoft Fabric tenant and associated environments including Power BI.Manage Fabric capacities and consumption monitoring.Work closely with IT to configure and manage tenant settings, security policies, and platform governance controls.Lead platform upgrades, feature adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.Establish and maintain operational standards for Fabric administration.Design and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) frameworks across Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.Create and maintain team identities to support secure and scalable data access models.Lead the implementation and ongoing management of Microsoft Purview and data governance frameworks.Manage data-related risks and support compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. CPG 235) by ensuring data is accurate, secure, appropriately governed, and fit for business and regulatory reporting purposes.Work closely with business stakeholders to identify emerging reporting requirements, data needs, and regulatory obligations, ensuring data initiatives are aligned across the organisation.Support audit, compliance, and risk management activities including periodic security reviews.
Team Leadership & People ManagementLead, supervise,



mentor, and develop the Business Intelligence team.Allocate work and manage team priorities to ensure timely delivery of reporting and analytics solutions.Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning for team members.Identify and facilitate training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning activities.Provide technical guidance and leadership across BI, data engineering, and reporting disciplines.
Required Skills and ExperienceTechnicalEnterprise data warehousing administration and development experience ideally using Microsoft Fabric.Strong Power BI administration, modelling, and report development skills.Advanced SQL development and troubleshooting skills.Programming abilities such as Python for data engineering, analytics, and automation.Experience developing:Data pipelinesETL/ELT processesData transformationsSemantic modelsPower BI reporting solutionsPower Automate workflows
LeadershipDemonstrated experience leading and developing BI, reporting, or data teams.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Experience balancing operational reporting requirements with strategic platform development.
Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience in data governance and architecture using tools such as Microsoft PurviewExperience within the Life Insurance industry.Knowledge of policy administration, claims, underwriting, actuarial, and finance data domains.Experience working within APRA-regulated financial services environments.Understanding of CPS 230, CPS 234, CPG235 and contemporary data governance practices.Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, or Purview certifications.Related tertiary qualifications.Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse Analytics.
