The Opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest for an experienced
Senior Method Development Scientist - Immunoassay
to join our Immunoassay Analytical Services team based at our Adelaide facility.
Our Immunoassay team specialises in ligand-binding assay (LBA) science for the development and support of large molecule therapeutics, including but not limited to proteins, monoclonal antibodies, peptides and fusion proteins.
These therapies are at the forefront of contemporary drug development and precision medicine, targeting specific biological pathways with high selectivity.
At Agilex Biolabs, our Scientists have extensive experience in a broad range of ligand binding assays, employing various formats, including Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), Electrochemiluminescent immunoassays (ECLIA), and the Gyrolab automated assay platform.
? About the Role
The
Senior Method Development - Immunoassay (IA)
role is responsible for the development, optimisation, troubleshooting, and transfer of complex ligand binding assays within a regulated laboratory environment.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will provide scientific leadership throughout the method development lifecycle, ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, company guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

this is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically driven professional who enjoys solving complex analytical challenges and mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Method Development & Technical Expertise
Design, develop, optimise, and transfer complex ligand binding assays.
Lead troubleshooting activities and technical investigations related to analytical methods.
Provide scientific expertise in assay development and implementation of current regulatory guidance.
Interpret and evaluate scientific data to support project outcomes.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Act as a key scientific contact for clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing technical and scientific queries.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Study Directors and operational teams, to ensure timely project delivery.
Liaise with operational groups to facilitate the successful transition of methods into validation.
Documentation & Compliance
Author and review Analytical Laboratory Methods (ALMs).
Review and provide scientific input into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality standards.
Team Contribution & Leadership
Manage assigned studies and workload with minimal supervision.
Support the training, mentoring, and development of junior R&D; staff.
Contribute to the review and assessment of new project opportunities as required.
? About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
Minimum 4 years' experience working within an analytical laboratory environment.
Minimum 2 years' experience in analytical method development, specifically involving ligand binding assays.
Experience within a Clinical Research Organisation (CRO)



environment is highly desirable.
Experience working within a regulated bioanalytical laboratory is advantageous.
