Role Description The Heavy Equipment Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Perth Area, supporting civil construction projects across Perth locations whwre needed from our head office in Cardup.
The role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy and mobile equipment used in earthworks, underground services, and infrastructure projects.
Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment for faults, replacing and repairing components, completing service reports, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
The Heavy Equipment Fitter will work closely with site supervisors, operators, and the maintenance team to coordinate field service activities, minimize downtime, and adhere to company safety and environmental procedures.
Qualifications Strong equipment maintenance skills, including diagnostics, repairs, and routine servicing of heavy and mobile machinery.Experience working safely with heavy equipment and mobile equipment in civil construction or mining environments.
Scraper experience preferred Demonstrated capability in field service work, including on-site troubleshooting and responding to breakdowns.Competence in working at height and in diverse site conditions, with a focus on safety and risk management.Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or equivalent) and appropriate licenses or certifications.Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and adherence to protected work practices.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and complete clear maintenance records.Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.Previous experience in civil construction, mining, or related heavy industry is highly regarded.
