Stay Well By Design — A new boutique hotel opening in Cottesloe, one block from the beach.
About us
Cottesloe House is a small, premium boutique hotel opening in ****.
We are building a property where every apartment is prepared with intention, and where the standard of the room is the centrepiece of the guest experience — not a background function.
If that idea excites you, keep reading.
About the role
As a Casual Housekeeper you are the person who delivers the Cottesloe House standard, room by room, shift by shift.
This is hands-on, on-the-floor work — cleaning, presenting, stocking, and handing back apartments that meet a luxury benchmark every time.
You will work under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Manager across departures, stayovers, turndowns, public areas and laundry.
As the property grows, there may also be opportunities to be cross-trained to assist with guest-facing food and beverage service.
What you will be doing
• Departure cleans, stayover service and turndown across the guest apartments, to a detailed checklist.
• Bathroom presentation, bed making to the Cottesloe House linen standard, restocking amenities.
• Maintaining lobby, corridors, lifts, pool surrounds and shared spaces to the same standard as inside the rooms.
• Trolley and linen management, laundry support, and reporting maintenance or supply issues promptly.
• Following WHS, chemical handling and manual handling procedures every time — not most of the time.
• Assisting with general food and beverage service when trained and required, including serving food and drinks, clearing tables and supporting guest requests.
What you will bring
• Genuine pride in doing something properly — you notice the detail others miss.
• Physical fitness for a full shift of standing, lifting, bending and cleaning.
• Reliability and punctuality — in a small team, every shift counts.
• Discretion — guest privacy is non-negotiable.
• Availability for early morning starts (from 7:00am), weekends and public holidays.
• Previous hotel, serviced apartment or commercial cleaning experience (advantageous, not essential — attitude and standard matter most).
• A current WA Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, or willingness to obtain one, for team members who are cross trained in food and beverage service.
What we offer
• A competitive hourly rate, above the applicable Award, will be offered to the successful candidate based on their skills, experience and attributes.
• Applicable weekend, evening, night and public holiday penalty rates apply, as per the Hospitality Industry (General) Award ****.
• Full induction, chemical handling and manual handling training, with food and beverage cross-training available for suitable team members.
• A brand-new property, brand-new equipment and a team being built from the ground up.
• Advance notice of shifts wherever occupancy allows.
• Genuine opportunity to grow with the business — reliable, high-standard casuals will be first in line for increased hours and ongoing engagement as the property matures.
Essential — Right to work
You must have full working rights in Australia (Australian or Current Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or a valid visa with unrestricted working entitlement).
Working rights will be verified on engagement.
Please note: Cottesloe House does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
How to apply
Apply through SEEK with your CV and a short cover note telling us why the standard we describe above resonates with you.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a phone screen followed by an in-person interview at the property.
