Senior Leading Hand - Commercial Building & Maintenance

Are you an experienced builder OR carpenter with years of commercial hands-on experience who’s ready to partially step off the tools and into a management role?

This role offers the best of both worlds — managing projects across our diverse client base while still having the chance to roll up your sleeves when needed.

What you'll be doing

- As a Senior Leading Hand with NEXX, you’ll oversee a variety of commercial building and maintenance minor projects. You’ll be responsible for coordinating employees and trades, scheduling client jobs, arranging subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered smoothly and on time.
- On any given day, you could be:
- Coordinating and supervising trades and employees.
- Scheduling and tracking client jobs across our projects.
- Arranging quotes or subcontractors for specific works.
- Preparing service reports or claims once jobs are complete.




- Jumping back on to the tools to help the team or to deliver a quick turn around project.
- Managing straightforward call-outs through complex corporate job requests.

About you

- Minimum 5-10 years experience in similar roles.
- Background as a builder or Carpenter tradesperson with commercial project knowledge.
- Strong people management skills to support and direct our trades team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and juggle a variety of tasks.
- Confidence in liaising with clients and understanding project requirements from start to finish.
