Salary: $38.48 - $41.36 per hour inclusive 25% casual loading

Reports to: Project Coordinator

About Us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (Anyinginyi Health) is a multidisciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to 'Closing the Gap' in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi Health is made up of four different sections (Health Services, Corporate Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and well-being is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi Health's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

About The Opportunity

/n

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation has been funded to support the implementation of recommendations from the Tennant Creek & Barkly Region report on Family Violence Report 2022 – 'It takes a whole community approach to violence'. Reporting to the Project Coordinator the DFSV Community Connectors will be responsible for supporting community members to access DFSV services and raise community awareness through the development and delivery of relevant activities.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

/n

/n

- Support community members to access existing DFSV services

/n

- Undertake community consultation to support implementation of recommendations within the Report.

/n

- Support development and delivery of DFSV community awareness raising activities

/n

- Support information gathering to inform the service mapping / needs assessment / gap analysis on local services available to people affected by DFSV or who have committed DFSV

/n

- Ensure all activities are undertaken in alignment with the Northern Territory DFSV policy and practice frameworks, including the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Framework 2018-2028: Safe, respected and free from violence and its action plans, and the Northern Territory Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF)

Selection criteria

/n

Essential

/n

/n

- Experience in the delivery of community-based activities that are culturally responsive, and trauma informed.

/n

- Willingness to engage with all different Aboriginal language groups and families.

/n

- Demonstrated task completion for meetings or events with due dates.

/n

- Prepared to undertake training and development.

/n

- Demonstrated communication skills, in adapting to meet the need of individuals in a holistic wrap around service model.

/n

- Demonstrated communication and act as a support to cultural responsiveness requirements to a non-Aboriginal person.

/n

- Ability to work as part of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team

/n/n

Desirable

/n

/n

- Ability to speak one or more languages of the Barkly Region.

/n

- Ability to provide accurate verbal and written reports.

/n/n

- Confirmation of employment is dependent on the outcome of the successful application for an Ochre Card/ Working with Children's Card and a Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

/n

- All Anyinginyi Health employees must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19.
