About the Company:
An established, nationally recognised organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to lead a high-performing payroll function supporting a large and diverse workforce across Australia.

This global company with a presence in over 14 countries is looking to expand their team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will oversee a team of Payroll Officers, ensuring the accurate, compliant and timely delivery of payroll services while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and team development.

About the Role:

- Lead, mentor and develop a geographically dispersed team of Payroll Officers.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and adherence to payroll deadlines.
- Act as the escalation point for complex payroll enquiries and issues.
- Manage team workloads and service delivery to ensure payroll cycles and service standards are consistently achieved.
- Provide guidance and support on payroll legislation, awards, taxation, superannuation and compliance requirements.
- Identify operational risks, process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.




- Partner with HR, Finance and key stakeholders to deliver payroll solutions and resolve complex matters.
- Support payroll transformation initiatives, including automation, systems enhancements and process redesign.
- Maintain robust payroll controls, documentation and audit readiness.
- Contribute to strategic payroll initiatives and best-practice payroll management.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Significant payroll experience within a complex or high-volume setting.
- Previous leadership experience managing or supervising payroll teams.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and STP reporting requirements.
- Experience managing complex payroll queries and stakeholder relationships.
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Exposure to payroll systems such as SAP, ADP or similar enterprise platforms.
- Experience supporting payroll process improvement, transformation or system implementation projects.
