Western NSW Local Health District is seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Registrar to support coverage across a regional health service.
This role is suited to a registrar with recent Emergency Medicine experience who is comfortable working across both the Emergency Department and ward environment. The doctor will work alongside a GP VMO on shift, supporting patient reviews, clinical documentation, management planning and escalation of care where required.
Clinical Environment:
Regional health service within Western NSW
Emergency Department and ward-based cover
Working alongside a GP VMO
Monday to Friday roster, generally 08:00 – 16:30
Supportive rural hospital workplace with escalation pathways available
Key Duties:
Assess and manage ED presentations
Support ward-based patient care and reviews
Complete clinical documentation and handover
Assist with management plans and patient flow
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
Eligibility Criteria:
Current AHPRA Registration
Recent Emergency Medicine registrar-level experience
Comfortable working across ED and ward settings
Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
