The Opportunity:

Hunter Recent England Local Health District is seeking a Locum GP VMO or CMO In-Charge to provide Emergency Department cover at a regional hospital.
This role is suited to a confident doctor with strong Emergency Medicine experience who is comfortable working as the sole doctor in charge. The locum is required to remain onsite for the full shift, except for designated breaks, to ensure prompt and continuous patient care.

Clinical Environment:

Emergency Department in a regional hospital setting
Sole doctor in charge of Emergency Medicine
Night shift cover, generally 20:00 – 08:00
High-acuity presentations with a broad range of clinical exposure
Supported by on-site anaesthetics, gynaecology and remote retrieval teams

Key Duties:

Provide in-charge Emergency Department cover
Assess and manage patients presenting to the ED
Support urgent and high-acuity presentations
Complete clinical documentation and handover
Escalate care appropriately when required

Eligibility Criteria:

Current AHPRA Registration
Recent Emergency Medicine experience
GP VMO or CMO in-charge experience preferred




Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
Ability to complete SDPR training prior to commencement
Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
