The Opportunity:

Dubbo Health Service is seeking a Locum General Surgery Consultant / Specialist / VMO to provide General Surgery on-call cover.
This role is suited to an experienced General Surgeon who is confident managing acute surgical presentations across the Emergency Department, wards and emergency theatre. You will support clinical decision-making, patient reviews, escalation of care and urgent theatre requirements as needed.

Clinical Workplace:

General Surgery Consultant / Specialist / VMO cover
Regional hospital setting at Dubbo Health Service
General Surgery on-call requirements
Exposure across ED, wards and emergency theatre
Supportive hospital environment with escalation pathways available

Key Duties:

Provide General Surgery on-call cover
Review and manage acute surgical presentations
Support ED, ward and emergency theatre requirements
Complete documentation, handover and management plans
Work collaboratively with surgical, nursing and hospital teams

Eligibility Criteria:

Current AHPRA Specialist Registration
Recent General Surgery consultant-level experience




Confidence managing on-call and emergency theatre requirements
Strong communication, leadership and clinical judgement
Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
