The Migration Agent plays a key role in delivering high‑quality migration services for People 2.0 APAC, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will manage a diverse caseload, including the preparation and lodgement of complex visa applications, the maintenance of accurate client records, and the provision of clear, timely migration advice.
This position requires regular collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders - including clients, legal representatives, and government authorities, to achieve successful migration outcomes. The role demands robust client‑service capability, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of employment visas and relevant legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Experience in successfully conducting consultations with clients
- Managing immigration compliance for clients
- Managing the visa lodgement phase of a client file, including interviewing clients for further information, undertaking research, and investigating immigration policies and requirements in successfully lodging the visa applications with Department of Home Affairs, working under the Licensed Immigration Advisers guidance
- Manage caseload efficiently, while providing timely and accurate advice on immigration issues and visa options
- Organising and managing files, paperwork, and data
- Filing application documents with the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA)
- Manage legal and Migration documentation and correspondence in strict confidence
- Correspond with DOHA, other Authorities and clients
- Collate, review, draft visa applications and forms, and prepare for submission
- Collaborate with other departments to organise paperwork and optimise processes
- Draw up services agreement and assist with following up on payments
- Keep up to date on relevant legislation and polices (Aus/NZ)
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the business
Qualifications:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (as a minimum) in any field
- 3-5 years’ work experience as a Migration Agent in Australia with strong knowledge of employer sponsored visas. Experience in NZ is desirable
- Valid Migration Agent Registration with professional certification from the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA)
- A thorough understanding of current immigration laws and policy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Experience in using Migration Manager (desirable)
- Experience preparing a wide range of visa subclasses, including Temporary Skills Shortage, Employer Nomination Scheme, Temporary Work, Spouse, Tourist, and Citizenship applications
