Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives.
We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

- We're seeking an AOD Treatment Worker to deliver specialist support to CALD communities, with a focus on the Chinese community
- Comprehensive and brief assessment, one-to-one treatment, case management and care coordination
- Assertive outreach and culturally appropriate group facilitation, including some evening and weekend hours
- Most group work is CALD specific and community based
- Delivered within our Model of Care
- Works across the Sydney North region (Hornsby, Northern Beaches and Ryde) as the service grows
- Adaptable, multi-site work across Sydney North
- Relevant VET or tertiary qualification in a related field
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese, and the ability to engage with and support the Chinese community
- Experience supporting people with AOD, mental health and/or co-occurring needs, serving CALD communities
- Experience in brief and comprehensive assessment, one-to-one support and group facilitation
- Understanding of the health and complex support needs affecting CALD individuals and communities (likely identifying as culturally and/or linguistically diverse)
- Knowledge of evidence based treatment, harm minimisation and care coordination
- Emotional resilience and the ability to stay calm while supporting clients in high emotion situations
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- WWCC (for paid work)
- National Police Check (>1 yr old)
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia
- COVID Vaccinated
