The purpose of this search is to appoint an experienced Finance Director who can elevate the sophistication, visibility, and commercial impact of the Finance function. Through improved financial insight, reporting and analysis, the Finance Director will enable more informed decision-making and support the development of targeted strategies across growth, operations, and business performance.

The Finance Director will lead an ANZ Finance team of approximately ten people. The role will report to the Global Controller in the US, although this is more for the purpose of governance. On a daily basis and in all practical terms, the role reports to the ANZ Managing Director.

This global organisation generates almost 1 bil revenue AUD per annum, with the combined ANZ revenue of almost $100 million. There are clear ambitions to achieve significant growth across the global footprint over the coming years, including within the ANZ market.

The successful candidate will be considerably more than a traditional Finance leader. They will bring robust commercial capability and demonstrate an ability to partner effectively with the Managing Director, operational leaders and other key stakeholders. They will use financial and operational insights to make clear, decisive recommendations that improve performance and support the long-term interests of the business.

They will have a growth mindset and be passionate about driving improvements. It is imperative that this individual is a coach,



the type of leader who constantly pushes their staff to be better and provides the needed support to achieve that.

They will be tech savvy and have an interest in evolving technology such as AI. As well as this they will have a robust understanding of paths to market. They will be data centric and know how to use data to make decisions. In addition to this they will be curious, they will always ask ‘why’ and be looking how can we make the business work better.

CA or CPA qualified is a must, the successful candidate will be a practical and engaged leader who is equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up their sleeves to understand the detail. They will spend time within the operations and engage directly with customers to develop a genuine understanding of what is working well, where challenges exist and how the business can better support sustainable growth across the network.

The successful candidate will likely come from a multi-site manufacturing, industrial or similarly operational environment. They will bring advanced capability across cost accounting, margin analysis, working capital, capital expenditure, and performance management. Experience operating within a multinational organisation with an offshore global headquarters, ideally in the United States, will be highly regarded. Direct experience supporting merger and acquisition integration will be important.
