About the role
Reporting to the Senior School Head of Teaching and Learning, the Senior School Chair of Faculty - Mathematics provides leadership across a large and established Mathematics faculty. The role focuses on staff development, teaching excellence and driving strong student outcomes across Senior School Mathematics.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Faculty Leadership: Lead, coach and support Mathematics staff while fostering a positive and team-oriented culture.
- Teaching & Learning: Drive excellence in curriculum delivery, classroom practice and student achievement.
- Staff Development: Mentor teachers, lead professional learning and support performance and growth processes.
- Curriculum Leadership:
Oversee Years 10-12 Mathematics programs and contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
- Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with leaders across the school and contribute to broader educational priorities.
The School is seeking a Term 1, 2027 commencement, or earlier by negotiation.
About you
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience teaching VCE Mathematics.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and staff development capability.
- Proven ability to build relationships and lead teams effectively.
- A commitment to achieving outstanding student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current VIT registration, or the ability to obtain registration.
