WHO WE ARE

Vac Truck Industries (VTI) is an Australian OEM manufacturer, providing complete vacuum truck solutions to the civil construction, electrical, infrastructure, mining, drilling, oil, and gas industries across Australia.

Our specialised range of equipment includes hydro excavation vacuum systems (vac trucks), high-pressure hydro drain cleaning jetter systems, and liquid waste collection systems (sucker trucks) — all available in a broad range of volume sizes and power capacities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

VTI is currently seeking a mechanically minded and detail-focused individual to join our team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing high-quality outcomes. A trade qualification is beneficial but not essential — we encourage applications from candidates who have a genuine interest in mechanical assembly or the automotive industry and are willing to learn.

In this position, you will support the build, fit-out, testing, and servicing of our innovative vacuum truck systems. Full training and development will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, initiative, and strong attention to detail.

You will work collaboratively with our experienced team to meet productivity and quality standards while contributing to overall workshop outcomes.

Applicant must live locally. We are not looking at sponsoring overseas workers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assembly of engineered, hydraulic, and water system components for vacuum trucks

- Fit-out of toolboxes, trays, and other truck-mounted accessories

- Assist in ensuring all components meet OEM and Australian compliance standards

- Testing or assisting with the testing and operation of completed vacuum trucks

- Carrying out quality inspections and audits

ABOUT YOU

- Trade qualification is advantageous, but not required

- Mechanical aptitude through work experience, hobbies, or general hands-on background

- A genuine interest in automotive, mechanical, or manufacturing environments

- Willingness to learn recent skills, including hydraulics (training provided)

- High level of attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Robust communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

- Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safety

A current driver’s & forklift license is required. A HR license would be highly regarded.

Regular overtime is available to meet customer and business requirements.
