About the Role
The School is seeking an experienced Archivist to join our Library team and play a key role in preserving, developing and promoting the School’s rich history and cultural heritage.
Reporting to the Senior Librarian, the Archivist will provide specialist expertise in archival and records management, with responsibility for the development, preservation, cataloguing, digitisation and promotion of the School Archive.
The collection includes publications, photographs, ephemera, the Fine Arts Collection, Honour Boards, audiovisual material and other significant records documenting the history of the School.
Working collaboratively across the School, you will:
- manage and develop the School’s archival collections in accordance with professional standards and best practice
- lead the acquisition, appraisal, description, preservation and digitisation of archival material
- support the ongoing development of the School’s digital preservation program
- provide archival research support to staff, students, alumnae and other members of the School community
- promote the Archive through exhibitions, displays, publications, events and learning activities
- contribute to the development of archival policies, procedures and collection strategies
- participate in Library services and initiatives as a member of the broader Library team.
This role is offered on a full time, ongoing basis, commencing January 2027.

About You
You will be an experienced and passionate Archivist who is excited by the opportunity to care for and develop a significant historical collection dating back to 1875.
You will bring:
- demonstrated experience in archival or collection management
- knowledge of archival description, metadata and digital preservation practices
- strong research, organisational and information management skills
- excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- a high level of accuracy, initiative and attention to detail
- a genuine interest in history, heritage and the preservation of institutional memory.
