The Principal House Officer (PHO) – Oral & Maxillofacial participates in the provision, development and maintenance of high-quality clinical services within Procedural Services at the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). Working under the supervision of Consultants and Registrars, the role contributes to the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred care across a broad range of oral and maxillofacial services.
The successful candidate will provide inpatient, outpatient and theatre-based clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team while supporting continuity of care, clinical excellence and positive patient outcomes. The role also offers opportunities to participate in teaching, research, clinical audit and quality improvement activities within a specialised surgical environment.

- Provide high-quality clinical care for oral and maxillofacial patients across inpatient, outpatient and procedural settings under appropriate clinical supervision.
- Develop and implement patient management plans in consultation with senior medical staff while ensuring effective communication with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to continuity of care through accurate clinical documentation, timely clinical handover and proactive discharge planning.
- Support the education and supervision of junior medical staff and students while fostering a collaborative team workplace.
- Participate in research, audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that enhance service delivery and clinical outcomes.
