Lobby Host | InterContinental Sydney | Part Time

Are you a polished hospitality qualified who thrives at the centre of a busy luxury hotel? Do you naturally notice when a guest needs assistance, when the lobby flow needs direction, or when a small moment can become a memorable experience?

InterContinental Sydney is seeking a Lobby Host to be the welcoming face and calm presence across our lobby and arrival journey. This is a hybrid guest facing role: lobby presence remains the priority, while the position also moves naturally between digital arrival support, VIP and Club touchpoints, guest activations, local guidance and early service recovery.

You will read the lobby, connect the right teams and help create a seamless luxury experience from the moment a guest arrives through to their transition to Reception, Bell, Club InterContinental or their room.

The Role

Maintain a visible, polished and approachable presence across the lobby.

Welcome guests, anticipate their needs and provide intuitive assistance throughout the arrival journey.

Proactively manage guest flow, queues, seating, group movements and busy arrival periods.

Support guests using digital arrival options and guide the key collection journey once check in requirements are complete.

Liaise closely with Front Desk, Concierge, Bell, Club InterContinental, and Food and Beverage to create smooth service transitions.

Support coordinated VIP and high profile arrivals, room ready updates, key delivery and guest escorts.

Lead assigned seasonal, family, loyalty and event activations, ensuring they remain engaging, presented and replenished.

Provide confident hotel information and local recommendations, referring detailed itinerary planning to Concierge.

Recognise emerging guest concerns,



take appropriate action and escalate promptly where leadership support is required.

Maintain clear communication and handover of unresolved requests, guest preferences and operational observations.

Undertake Guest Experience Executive tasks during select rostered shifts, based on demonstrated readiness and operational need.

About You

This is a Part Time role, 3-4 days a week both AM and PM shifts, but you must be available Friday and Saturdays as these are our peak day

Minimum 1-2 years of luxury hospitality, customer service, or front-of-house experience required

Previous experience in luxury hospitality, customer service, or front-of-house roles

Impeccable grooming and presentation standards

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a busy environment

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)

Full Australian Working Rights are required
