Clinical Trials Finance Manager (Health Manager Lvl 2) - Temp FT

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute and strategic finance professional with demonstrated experience in budget modelling, contract negotiation and financial risk assessment, ideally within a clinical trials, healthcare, research or similarly complex regulated environment. You will be highly skilled in translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making by both financial and non-financial stakeholders. With strong experience in revenue cycle management, cost recovery frameworks and financial performance monitoring, you will leverage data analytics, forecasting and reporting tools to drive sustainable outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Your ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clinicians, executives, sponsors and external partners will be key to your success, as will your proven leadership capability in developing high-performing teams, setting direction and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. A strong understanding of governance, compliance and audit requirements is essential, together with a proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset that enables you to navigate complexity and deliver innovative, sustainable financial outcomes.

Selection Criteria

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field and/or demonstrated equivalent extensive experience in a health care setting.

Proven experience in developing, reviewing and negotiating clinical trial budgets and financial terms with external stakeholders.

Demonstrated analytical and reporting capability, including the ability to prepare accurate financial forecasts, impact assessments, dashboards, variance analysis and financial summaries,



using multiple systems (including CTMS).

Strong knowledge of financial governance, compliance, revenue management, invoicing, reconciliation and cost-recovery principles.

Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, including supervision, training, performance management and capability uplift of finance or operational staff.

Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts for clinical, operational and executive audiences.

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and high standards of financial integrity.

Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and alignment with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), NSW Health policies, NCTGF requirements and organisational governance frameworks.

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
