World class architectural design leader with proven expertise in MMC and its application for housing.

The Head of Design & Product is accountable for defining and scaling a world-class, product-led residential design system that underpins our client’s growth ambition. An ambitious Australian company is searching for world best expertise to lead this critical stage of development.

This role translates design intent into industrialised, digitally enabled outcomes. This includes embedding DfMA principles into early-stage design, standardising components and modules, and integrating design seamlessly with manufacturing, procurement and delivery.

As a design leader you will be the custodian of a new product ensuring design quality, customer appeal and regulatory compliance across markets, while also acting as an external facing design leader with partners, planners, and industry bodies. Work in close partnership with Manufacturing, Digital/Product, Development and Delivery.

Lead the evolution from bespoke, project-based design to a platform-based housing product system, leveraging digital tools, parametric design and data insights to drive speed, cost and quality advantages. This role will suit an established architect who has since moved into a role that applies design, industrialisation and digital product thinking at scale

Key Responsibilities

- Provide design leadership and expertise
- Define and develop a world-class residential design system
- Ensure the implementation and execution of the product achieves agreed targets of quality, cost benefits and speed
- Advocate and drive processes using exceptional collaboration and communication skills
- Present to board members, investors, consent authorities and stakeholders

Skills and Experience

- Significant international architectural experience.
- Substantial architectural firm experience focused on MMC eg. DfMA and / or modular design




- Product-led residential design leader ideally with deep experience moving from bespoke architecture to scalable, standardised housing or building products.
- DfMA-native mindset - proven track record embedding modularisation, kit-of-parts thinking and manufacturing constraints into early design.
- Digitally competent: understands and comfortable with Rhino / Revit and design-to-manufacture workflows.
- Commercial and customer-centric, able to balance design quality, cost to serve, market appeal and regulatory realities.
- Enterprise-scale leader who can build and lead design teams and influence across development, manufacturing and delivery functions.
- Team Collaboration – strong team player and ability to effectively partner with global architects, manufacturing, development and construction business units
