Field Service Diesel Mechanic – Marine, Power Generation and Civil

$50–$65 per hour, depending on experience | Company vehicle and fuel card | Brisbane-based

Falcon Diesel is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our field service team, based from our Hemmant workshop in Brisbane.

We provide diesel engine, transmission and driveline support across the marine, power generation, civil and mining industries. Our work includes scheduled servicing, diagnostics, breakdown support, major engine repairs, component rebuilds and commissioning.

This role would suit a mechanic with strong diesel fundamentals who enjoys technical variety, solving faults and working independently. Experience across every industry is not required. We are looking for someone with sound diagnostic skills, high workmanship standards and an interest in developing their experience across a broader range of engines and equipment.

The role

- Diesel engine servicing, diagnostics and repairs

- Engine and component midlife repairs and rebuilds

- Marine gearbox, driveline and control-system work

- Generator and heavy-equipment maintenance

- Electrical and fuel-system fault-finding

- Commissioning, sea trials and breakdown support

- Local field service across the Brisbane region

- Occasional remote and away work

We work across all major diesel engine brands, with particular expertise in Cummins and Volvo Penta engines and Twin Disc transmissions.

What we are looking for

- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic,



Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Marine Technician

- Strong diesel engine diagnostic and repair capability

- Sound knowledge of contemporary diesel fuel systems

- Competence with 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems

- Ability to use diagnostic software and tooling

- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Ability to work independently and manage field-service tasks

- Professional communication and customer-service skills

- Current Australian driver’s licence

- Australian working rights

- Willingness to work across different industries and equipment types

Field service, marine, power generation, original equipment manufacturer, hydraulic or commissioning experience will be highly regarded.
