Title: 2027 Colorectal Research Fellow (Medtronic) Location: Eastern Health, VIC, AU, 3128 About the role Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Research Fellow with an interest in Colorectal Surgery to join Eastern Health. This onsite position is partially sponsored by Medtronic. The primary role of the Clinical Research Fellow is to facilitate the translation of research concepts into clinical studies that inform and enhance clinical practice.
The role will include
- Developing new research goals and ideas in conjunction with the supervisor, contribute to ongoing research projects and the supervision of junior medical staff with an interest in research - Assisting with 3 to 4 lists per week on a rostered basis (expected supplementary income of more than $50,000) - Participating in 1x operating list and 1x outpatient per month and on call general surgery (consult) at Angliss Hospital and 1x operating list per month at Blackburn Hospital - Training in anorectal physiology and anorectal ultrasound as part of the pelvic floor clinic on a fortnightly basis (3.5 hours) - Sharing of clinical duties with the training Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand Clinical Fellow.
- 1 in 3 weekend rounds - On call for colorectal emergencies 1 in 3 with the clinical fellow - Endoscopy and operating lists at Box Hill and Maroondah Hospital - 3 public operating lists per fortnight at split between Box Hill and Maroondah Hospital - Conducting and organising junior medical staff training in basic surgical skills, laparoscopy and endoscopy About you To be successful in this role you will possess:
