Are you currently working in a high-volume sales environment and looking for the opportunity to move beyond purely transactional selling into genuine account management?

We’re partnering with an established and growing business within the technology and communications sector to appoint an Account Manager to its Melbourne team.

This is a hands-on commercial role suited to someone who enjoys the pace and energy of sales but wants to build longer-term customer relationships, develop their commercial capability and take greater ownership of accounts.

A major attraction is the opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Director, gaining genuine exposure to how the business operates, how commercial decisions are made and how key customer relationships are developed.

The Opportunity

You’ll manage a combination of existing customers and active sales opportunities, taking ownership from initial conversation through to conversion and ongoing account development.

Your responsibilities will include

- Managing and developing an established portfolio of business customers

- Handling a high volume of customer conversations, opportunities and follow-ups

- Converting inbound and outbound opportunities into revenue

- Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across existing accounts

- Building strong, long-term relationships with customers

- Preparing quotes and proposals and progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline

- Coordinating customer requirements internally to ensure strong service delivery

- Maintaining accurate CRM activity, pipeline visibility and reporting

- Working closely with the Director across key accounts, commercial priorities and day-to-day business activity

About You

We’re particularly interested in people who have developed their career in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment and are ready to take the next step into broader account ownership.

You’ll ideally bring





- Proven sales experience with a track record of achieving targets and closing business

- Confidence speaking with customers over the phone and proactively progressing opportunities
- A genuine interest in developing longer-term account management skills

- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify opportunities within existing customers
- A proactive approach – you’re comfortable creating momentum rather than waiting for opportunities

- Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple customers and priorities simultaneously
- A personable, confident communication style and willingness to learn

Experience across telecommunications, technology, IT, managed services or a similar B2B environment would be highly regarded, although we’re equally interested in strong sales performers from other high-volume environments who can demonstrate the right commercial mindset.

- $80,000–$90,000 base + super

- OTE circa $140,000, with strong earning potential for high performers
