## Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Architect to join our team and lead the design and delivery of high-quality built setting projects. In this role, you will be responsible for translating client visions into functional, aesthetic, and compliant architectural solutions across a range of project types and scales. The ideal candidate brings a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to manage projects from concept through to construction completion.

## Key Responsibilities

- Consult with clients and key stakeholders to understand project requirements, including the intended type, style, scale, and function of new builds or alterations to existing structures
- Develop and present design concepts, feasibility studies, and preliminary sketches that align with client briefs, budget parameters, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including detailed scale drawings, specifications, and construction documents that integrate structural, mechanical, and aesthetic design elements
- Produce and manage contract documentation, call and evaluate tenders on behalf of clients, and assist in the selection and engagement of builders and specialist consultants
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive design outcomes
- Conduct regular site inspections throughout the construction phase to monitor progress, verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards, and resolve on-site design queries
- Advise clients on materials, construction methods, estimated timeframes, and cost implications, ensuring informed decision-making at every stage of the project
- Manage project programmes and deliverables to ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget,



proactively identifying and mitigating risks
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian building codes, planning regulations, accessibility standards, and sustainability requirements
- Support the preparation of development applications, building permits, and other statutory submissions required for project approvals
- Mentor and provide guidance to graduate architects and architectural technicians within the team, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- Registration as an Architect with the relevant State or Territory Architects Registration Board (ARB) in Australia, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Demonstrated experience in architectural design and project delivery across multiple project typologies and scales
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, with strong BIM modelling capabilities
- Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local planning frameworks, and relevant building legislation
- Strong ability to produce high-quality technical drawings, detailed specifications, and contract documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design intent to clients, consultants, and contractors
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills,



with a meticulous attention to detail
- Experience in administering construction contracts and managing the procurement process

## Preferred Qualifications

- Membership with the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA)
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in sustainable design, heritage conservation, or urban planning
- Experience with environmentally sustainable design (ESD) principles and green building rating tools such as Green Star or NABERS
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, including experience using platforms such as Procore or similar construction management software
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, or civic projects
- Exposure to design-and-construct or public-private partnership (PPP) project delivery models
