Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Melbourne, Australia The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Associate Principal Trombone. Auditions will take place on October 26 and 27, 2026. Candidates are required to perform the first movement of the Tomasi Trombone Concerto with piano accompaniment, along with various orchestral excerpts.
The application deadline is September 28, 2026. This position is open to Australian or Recent Zealand citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or individuals with the legal right to work in Australia. The successful candidate will be expected to play any tenor trombone position within the orchestra's section.
Applicants may indicate their intention to submit a recording upon application, but recordings are not mandatory at that time.
