About the Role

Luna's Garfield is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Barista/Front of House All-Rounder to join our vibrant team. This is a casual role offering approximately 24 hours per week, with the very real potential to grow to Thursday–Sunday hours for the right person who becomes a key part of our team. You'll move effortlessly between the espresso machine and the floor — crafting exceptional coffees, delivering warm and attentive service, and helping create the kind of experience that keeps our customers coming back. Please note: We are open Friday and Saturday evenings, so weekend availability is essential. Holding a current RSA is a solid advantage.

What You'll Be Doing

- Crafting consistently high-quality espresso-based and specialty beverages with care and precision
- Delivering warm, attentive front-of-house service — taking orders, handling payments and making every guest feel welcome
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and inviting café and service area at all times
- Supporting the setup and breakdown of service areas, restocking supplies and managing inventory
- Responding promptly and professionally to customer requests and special dietary needs
- Collaborating with your team to keep service flowing smoothly, even during the busiest rushes
- Upholding food safety, health regulations and hygiene standards throughout every shift

What We're Looking For

We're after someone with real experience and a genuine love for hospitality — this isn't an entry-level role. Here's what we need:





- Minimum 2 years of barista experience in a café or similar specialty coffee environment — this is non-negotiable
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of espresso machines, grinder calibration and milk texturing techniques
- Solid front-of-house or customer service experience in a fast-paced hospitality or food service setting
- Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with customers and teammates alike
- The confidence and flexibility to move between multiple roles within the same shift without missing a beat
- Reliability, punctuality and a genuine team-first attitude
- A sharp eye for detail — especially when it comes to presentation and hygiene standards
- A positive, can-do approach and the willingness to go the extra mile, every single shift
