About the role

August Cafe is seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join our team on a full-time basis in Seddon VIC 3011. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a energetic hospitality environment where your expertise in coffee preparation and customer service will directly contribute to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our beverage operations, crafting high-quality drinks whilst building meaningful connections with our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee-based beverages, specialty drinks and other hot and cold beverages to the highest standard
- Operate espresso machines and other beverage equipment with precision and care
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the bar area, including equipment maintenance and sanitisation
- Provide outstanding customer service, taking orders accurately and engaging positively with guests
- Work efficiently during peak service periods whilst maintaining quality and consistency
- Stock and manage beverage supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards for all beverages
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support smooth service operations
- Respond to customer requests and feedback with professionalism and courtesy

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Barista in a busy hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques
- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and milk frothing equipment




- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high presentation standards
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Food safety and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Barista training or certification is highly desirable
