About the role The role of Business and Economic Development Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a team of professionals, responsible for executing programs that support the Economic Development Strategy and Regional Development Strategies. This position is key in driving economic growth, attracting business investment, working with our partners and establishing the Central Coast as a prime location for business operations.
Reporting to the Section Manager Placemaking and Economy, you will provide technical leadership across economic issues, stakeholder engagement, economic development advice, and project implementation, enabling Council to respond to evolving economic conditions and community needs.
This role is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Applicant Profile To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a degree qualification in Economics, Commerce, Business or Urban Planning, or related qualification OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing career development
- a current Class C Driver Licence
- significant experience in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of economic development projects/ programs, or strategies, with the ability to focus on achieving agreed outcomes within budget
- the ability to conduct high-level economic analysis, market and land use studies, data analysis,
and strategic planning to inform Council policy and project decisions
- experience in designing and delivering programs that attract external investment and deliver effective collaboration, including the development, management and oversight of grants programs
- the ability to initiate and coordinate strategic partnerships and programs across multiple industry, government, business and community sectors to develop and implement economic development projects.
Offer Details The commencing salary for this position is up to $115.3k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $133.6k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
- We have a permanent full-time role available
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
- This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
