Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Northern Australia) Ltd is seeking an organised, reliable and community-minded Tuckshop Convenor to join the team at Carlisle Adventist College.
This is a part-time position working 17 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Carlisle Adventist College is a Prep to Year 12 school located in Mackay, the southern gateway to the greater Whitsunday region and the Outstanding Barrier Reef. The Tuckshop Convenor is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the college tuckshop. Working collaboratively with staff and volunteers, the successful applicant will provide quality food and friendly service to students and staff while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation.
Key responsibilities include
- planning, preparing and serving a range of suitable food and drinks;
- ordering supplies and maintaining appropriate stock levels;
- ensuring food is stored, prepared and served safely;
- maintaining a clean, hygienic and well-organised tuckshop;
- coordinating and supporting tuckshop volunteers;
- managing orders, transactions and basic tuckshop records;
- monitoring costs, stock usage and food waste;
- responding appropriately to dietary and allergy requirements; and
- providing welcoming and respectful service to students, families and staff.
We are seeking to appoint a person who:
- has experience in a school tuckshop, hospitality, food preparation or a similar environment;
- demonstrates strong organisational and time-management skills;
- can work independently and collaboratively;
- communicates positively with students, staff, families and volunteers;
- can manage competing priorities in a busy environment;
- demonstrates attention to detail and a commitment to safe food-handling practices;
- holds, or is willing to obtain, relevant food-safety training and certification; and
- supports the Christian ethos and values of Adventist education.
