As part of this growth, we are seeking an outstanding academic leader to join our senior academic team as Deputy Dean of Business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Dean of Business, the Deputy Dean of Business provides strategic and operational leadership across the Business and Accounting disciplines. Working closely with Course Directors and academic staff, the role is responsible for supporting academic quality, learning and teaching, curriculum development, scholarship, academic governance and continuous improvement.
The Deputy Dean plays a key role in academic excellence, teaching, regulatory compliance and an outstanding student experience while contributing to the strategic development of the Institute.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
- Support the Dean in the strategic and operational leadership of the Business and Accounting disciplines.
- Provide leadership in learning and teaching, curriculum quality and continuous improvement.
- Lead and mentor Course Directors and academic staff.
- Monitor academic performance, student outcomes and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to Academic Board, committees and institutional governance.
- Build productive relationships with industry, professional accreditation bodies and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021 and TEQSA requirements.
- Maintain an active program of scholarship and professional engagement.
About You To be successful in this role you will have: Essential
- A doctoral qualification in Business, Accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated academic leadership experience within the Australian higher education sector.
- Strong understanding of academic governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading learning and teaching, curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop academic staff.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to scholarship and enhancing the student experience.
Desirable
- Experience leading professional accreditation or regulatory review processes.
- Established industry, professional or academic networks relevant to Business or Accounting.
