An opportunity has arisen to join a well-capitalised private developer with one of the strongest pipelines of residential and mixed-use projects in NSW.

The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering projects of genuine scale and complexity and has attracted some of the most respected development professionals in the market. With a number of significant projects progressing, they are seeking a Development Manager to join the team on a major residential mixed-use development at the very beginning of its lifecycle.

Working alongside an experienced development team, you will play a key role in shaping the strategy, planning pathway and design outcomes of the project from the outset, while gaining exposure across the broader development lifecycle as the project progresses.

The Prospect

This role will suit a Development Manager who enjoys working at the front end of projects - understanding the market, shaping strategy, navigating planning pathways and bringing together multiple stakeholders to achieve strong development outcomes.

With the project currently in its early stages, you will initially be heavily involved in planning strategy, design development and statutory approvals, while continuing to gain exposure across the full development lifecycle as the project progresses.

Key responsibilities will include

- Take ownership of key elements of a significant residential mixed-use development through the full project lifecycle, from early-stage strategy through to delivery.
- Support the development strategy, feasibility analysis and commercial assessment of the project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and market requirements.
- Lead planning strategy and statutory approval pathways, including coordination of Planning Proposals, Development Applications, RFIs and authority negotiations.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams across planning, architecture, urban design, engineering, traffic, civil, environmental and other specialist disciplines.




- Drive design development processes, ensuring outcomes balance market expectations, planning requirements, buildability, cost and long-term project objectives.
- Manage project programmes, key milestones, risks and opportunities to support successful delivery outcomes.
- Work closely with senior leadership, internal teams and external stakeholders to inform project strategy and decision-making.
- Support project reporting, budgets, feasibilities and commercial analysis throughout the development lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, authorities, project partners and key stakeholders.

About You

- Proven experience as a Development Manager delivering residential and/or mixed-use projects within a developer or client-side environment.
- Degree qualified in Property, Property Economics, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the NSW planning framework, supported by either your qualifications or robust planning exposure gained in your current role.
- Experience working across residential or mixed-use developments within a developer, consultancy or client-side environment.
- Solid strategic thinking with the ability to understand the bigger picture while managing detailed project requirements.
- Commercially minded with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
