General Maintenance Handyman

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on General Maintenance Handyman to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining our food manufacturing facilities, equipment, and general infrastructure to ensure a secure, clean, and efficient workplace.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, and capable of working independently while also supporting the wider operations team.

Key Responsibilities

- Stainless steel welding and general fabrication/welding repairs

- Repair and maintenance of cool room and refrigeration panels

- Basic plumbing repairs, including hoses, fittings and pipework

- Repair and maintenance of trolleys, racks and other equipment

- General building maintenance and upkeep across multiple facilities

- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime

- Operate a forklift safely to move equipment, materials and maintenance supplies

- Liaise with contractors and suppliers for maintenance services and materials

- Negotiate competitive pricing for maintenance materials and supplies

- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts and maintenance materials





- Ensure the workshop and maintenance areas are clean, organised and safe

- Complete maintenance records and report works completed

- Report directly to the QA Manager and General Manager

- Travel between company sites as required

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Proven experience in a maintenance, handyman or facilities maintenance role

- Experience in stainless steel welding and general welding

- Basic plumbing knowledge

- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

- Excellent time management and organisational skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication skills

- Current Forklift Licence

- Current Australian Driver's Licence
