Description

As a General Manager Risk - Members and Enterprise Partners, you'll provide strategic risk leadership across the Members, Workplaces and Enterprise Partners portfolios while working closely with Executive Committee members, Enterprise Leaders, and other senior stakeholders.
You'll play a critical role in providing independent oversight, constructive challenge and expert advice that supports effective management of current, emerging and future risks.
You'll also lead key enterprise risk services, including governance frameworks, assurance activities, risk culture initiatives, and enterprise risk reporting. Through your leadership, you'll help strengthen organisational resilience, enable risk-informed decision making, and support the delivery of solid outcomes for members.
This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for risk management that supports organisational strategy, member outcomes and effective management of emerging risks.
- Provide strategic Line 2 oversight, independent challenge and expert risk advice across multiple business portfolios and transformational initiatives.
- Partner with senior executives and business leaders to support risk-informed decision making and strengthen stakeholder collaboration.
- Lead enterprise risk reporting and provide forward-looking insights on risk trends, control effectiveness and emerging threats.
- Oversee the ongoing enhancement of risk governance, assurance, reporting and risk management frameworks.
- Champion a strong risk culture by building organisational capability, confidence and accountability.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team aligned to organisational values and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You bring significant risk management experience within superannuation or another highly regulated financial services environment.
- Your knowledge includes APRA Prudential Standards, operational risk frameworks and industry best practice approaches.
- You'll have demonstrated experience leading Line 2 assurance programs, control effectiveness reviews and remediation oversight activities.
- You're skilled at building trusted relationships and influencing executive and senior stakeholder groups.
- You can translate complex risk information into clear and actionable insights for executive, board and committee audiences.
- Your background includes leading or contributing to risk transformation initiatives within complex organisations.
- You'll demonstrate strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking,
balancing risk and opportunity to achieve sustainable outcomes.
- You're qualified in Finance, Business, Risk or a related discipline, with relevant professional certifications viewed favourably.
