HR Business Partner (12-month contract)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our People team and partner with leaders across Retail, Distribution Centre (DC) and designated Support Office functions. Reporting to the Head of HR, you'll play a key role in delivering commercially focused people strategies that drive business performance, strengthen leadership capability and create an exceptional employee experience.

With Retail as the primary focus of your portfolio, you'll work closely with leaders across a geographically dispersed workforce, providing expert advice across workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change, Work Health & Safety, leadership development and culture. What you’ll do:

Strategic Business Partnering

Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across Retail, Distribution Centre and Support Office, partnering closely with the business to align people strategies with commercial objectives. You'll coach leaders through performance, engagement, organisational change and leadership challenges while using workforce insights to drive informed business decisions.

Retail & Distribution Centre Partnership

Be the dedicated HR partner for our Retail and Distribution Centre teams, supporting leaders to build high-performing teams across a geographically dispersed workforce. You'll play a key role in workforce planning, operational change, leadership capability and initiatives that improve engagement, retention and overall business performance.

Workforce Planning & Talent

Partner with leaders to plan for future workforce needs,



identify capability gaps and build strong succession pipelines. Working closely with our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you'll support recruitment strategy during peak periods while helping shape the long-term talent strategy for your business areas.

Employee Relations & Performance

Lead employee relations matters with confidence, providing practical and commercially focused advice on performance, conduct, workplace investigations and employment legislation. You'll coach leaders to navigate complex people matters while fostering a culture of accountability, fairness and high performance.

Performance, Talent & Engagement

Drive the performance review cycle, talent development and succession planning across your portfolio. Working closely with our Learning & Development Lead, you'll help build leadership capability while championing initiatives that strengthen engagement, culture and the overall employee experience.

Work Health & Safety

Take ownership of Work Health & Safety across Retail, Distribution Centre and Support Office, ensuring legislative compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture. You'll oversee incident management, workers compensation, injury management, psychosocial wellbeing,



WHS governance and continuous improvement initiatives that support a safe and healthy workplace.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our People function by leading HR projects, supporting organisational change and driving continuous improvement across policies, systems and processes. You'll identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience while delivering practical solutions that support business performance.

What You'll Bring:

- Demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience partnering with operational leaders across a multi-site workforce.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Awards, National Employment Standards and employment law.
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations and performance management.
- Experience supporting organisational change, workforce planning and leadership development.
- Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety legislation, workers compensation and risk management.
- Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance people outcomes with business objectives.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and build trusted relationships.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience within retail, logistics or another operational environment will be highly regarded.
