Therefore, we are excited to invite applications for Live In Motel Manager/s (Couple or Individual) to join our friendly team.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Management person or couple to run our busy 33 room Motel.
This role would ideally suit an experienced hospitality person or couple looking to manage a Motel that caters to a large volume of corporate, contractor and leisure guests visiting the region, the property has an excellent reputation for offering excellence in customer service and a high standard of accommodation.
The successful candidate/s will be responsible for living on site to manage the day to day running of the Motel including staff management, rostering, maintenance duties, front & back office duties, as well as overseeing and assisting as required with the onsite restaurant. Working closely with the Executive General Manager from Head Office, you will be provided with the support and guidance to perform these duties at the highest standard. You will also be provided with a 2 bedroom fully furnished Managers residence conveniently located above the motel,
including all utilities as part of your salary package.
We are seeking active, hands on Manager/s who are self driven, experienced and enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer service. To succeed you will need to have experience in Hotel/Motel management, have a proactive and positive attitude, and a 'hands on' approach while leading the team. A full complement of existing staff is already in place and will report directly to you, in addition to this, HR and Accounting functions including recruitment, payroll and book keeping are all completed off site by Head Office support staff allowing you to focus solely on managing the Motel.
As this is a full time live in position, including being on call 7 nights (for emergencies and occasional late check-ins) we welcome applicants who will thrive in this type of workplace, and who fully understand the commitment required to the lifestyle.
Main Management tasks are
- Management of the day to day running's of the Motel including Front Office duties, and limited Back Office duties
- Managing staff and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Rostering of Housekeeping, Front of House, Reception & Kitchen staff
- Live on site, and manage after hours arrivals and/or emergencies
- Work alongside the Head Chef with overseeing the Restaurant
- Run an efficient housekeeping team, ensuring the rooms,
grounds and public areas are consistently clean and exceptionally presented and maintained
- Complete and manage basic repairs and maintenance throughout the property
- Onboarding and training of new staff
- Developing & maintaining strong relationships with customers, staff, and suppliers
- Prepare set reports for Management on Motel performance
- Escalate issues to the Executive General Manager as necessary
- Actively promote the Motel to increase business
- Manage corporate function bookings and enquiries
- Manage marketing and social media platforms
Key requirements for the role:
- Prior experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of Accommodation Booking sites and Property Management/Reservation systems (Room Master experience highly regarded)
- Lead by example - honest, hands on and dedicated
- Fully committed to the live on-site lifestyle
- Have the ability to go above and beyond to meet company objectives as well as ensuring customer satisfaction
- Have the ability to manage your time effectively
- Understand the marketing channels to increase business
- Have a high attention to detail.
- Superior communication and customer service skills

- Have a warm friendly demeanour with the ability to build rapport with guests
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
