The Head
Background LDS is implementing the second phase of a three-year Community Livelihood Assistance Project (CLAP). The project area is Salayea District, Lofa County, where LDS operates a local office with its head office in Monrovia. Under CLAP II, LDS will assist communities in health and sanitation, promotion, agriculture, and education support. LDS seeks a mechanic driver for a jeep/pick-up for field operations and management of the project.
Major Responsibilities The Mechanic Driver will operate and service the vehicle regularly, ensuring that;
- Oil and water are checked, and tires are properly inflated daily before starting the engine,
- Report any/all defects in performance of the vehicle to the designated LDS staff immediately upon notice of the problem on the vehicle;
- Ensure that the vehicle is always parked in a secure and secure place at all times;
- Keep an accurate daily-use log of fuel and mileage of use of the vehicle;
- Ensure that the vehicle is locked at all times for the security of staff and properties;
- Remain in proximity to the vehicle when parked for access to you, the driver, and security of the vehicle;
- Perform mechanical services; however, report vehicle conditions above your mechanical capacity;
Qualifications And Required Skills And Expertise
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving pick-up or jeep for projects in rural areas;
- Capable of reading and writing and keeping a vehicle use log;
- Willing to live and work out of town, especially in the project geographic areas, for long hours;
