We're looking for an experienced National Food Safety & Sanitation Manager to lead our national approach to food safety, commercial kitchen hygiene and HACCP compliance.

This is a newly created, high-impact role with national scope across hospitality, healthcare, education and large-scale catering environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, you will lead GJK's national food safety program, from setting standards through to auditing, validating and training across the network.

This role is based in Melbourne, with regular national travel, and is offered on a full time basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain GJK's national Food Safety Management System,



including standards and SOPs for commercial kitchen cleaning, HACCP cleaning, allergen management and high-risk food areas
- Design and deliver a national audit program assessing performance against HACCP, the Food Standards Code, client specifications and GJK's own standards
- Introduce a validation and verification framework using ATP testing, protein testing and microbiological swabbing, so cleaning outcomes are measured
- Build and lead GJK's national training capability, certifying staff before deployment into high-risk food environments and coaching Site Supervisors and Food Safety Champions across the network
- Lead technical investigations into contamination incidents, determine appropriate remediation, and verify safe recommencement of operations
- Provide technical support during client governance meetings, tenders and regulatory inspections, representing GJK as its food safety subject matter expert

About You

- A Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or Environmental Health is highly desirable
- Certificate IV in Food Safety Supervision, HACCP qualification, and Food Safety or Internal Auditor certification
- A minimum of five years' experience in commercial kitchen auditing, food manufacturing,



large-scale catering or food safety auditing, including experience delivering training across multiple sites
- Strong technical credibility, sound investigative judgement, and the ability to influence and coach operational teams
- Sound, calm decision-making under pressure, particularly during incident response
