SensesWA is seeking Expressions of Interest from an experienced, values‑aligned Non‑Executive Director to join our Board and contribute to the next phase of growth, innovation and impact for one of Western Australia’s most trusted disability service providers.
This appointment forms part of planned Board renewal, with future Chair succession a consideration.

With a proud 130‑year history, we deliver Allied Health Services, Positive Behaviour Support, Deafblind Services, and Homes and Living Services.

The Role
We are seeking a Non‑Executive Director who brings strategic insight, governance capability and a demonstrated commitment to our purpose and values.
As a Director, you will play a key role in:
- Setting and monitoring strategic direction
- Strengthening organisational performance and sustainability
- Overseeing financial, clinical and operational risk
- Supporting constructively the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
- Upholding strong governance, integrity and values‑based leadership
Skills and Experience We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Priority Capabilities
- Clinical or allied health leadership
- Senior executive or business owner experience in a health or human services setting
- Operational leadership across multi disciplinary teams including HR, IT and finance
- Robust commercial acumen and strategic financial literacy
- Governance, risk and compliance experience in regulated environments
Desired Capabilities
- Experience as a Board Chair, Deputy Chair or Committee Chair
- Understanding of government, policy and funding environments
- Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Expectations of the Role
Directors are expected to:
- Attend a minimum of six Board meetings per year
- Participate in one Board Sub-Committee
- Engage in strategic planning sessions, immersions and occasional out‑of‑session matters
- Prepare thoroughly and contribute constructively to Board deliberations
- Act as ambassadors for SensesWA and its purpose
