Permanent Part-Time

Minimum 16 hours per week

Opportunity for additional hours for the right candidate

Approximate hourly rate: $27 – $35 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience and applicable award classification

Availability Requirements

Must be available to work Fridays between 7:30am and 4:30pm to run the kitchen

Flexible availability Monday to Thursday, with shifts primarily occurring during midday hours as kitchen assistant

Additional hours may be offered based on service requirements, qualifications and availability

About the Role

As our Kitchenhand/Cook, you will play an important role in supporting children's health, wellbeing and daily experiences by providing nutritious meals and maintaining a safe and compliant kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
- Follow food safety standards, dietary guidelines and allergy management requirements.
- Ensure safe food handling, hygiene and kitchen compliance practices are maintained.
- Assist with ordering, stock management and kitchen supplies.
- Work collaboratively with educators and leadership teams to support daily routines and children's wellbeing.
- Uphold professional boundaries,



ethical conduct and child-protected practices at all times.
- Follow all organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements relevant to the role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential).
- Experience in cooking, catering or commercial kitchen environments.
- Experience within an Early Childhood Education and Care setting (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of food safety, allergy management and hygiene requirements.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A collaborative approach and positive attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining safe, respectful and child-safe environments.
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
