Denistone East Before & After School Care Association (DEBASCA) is a community-based, not-for-profit Outside School Hours Care service providing high-quality Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and skilled educators to join our exceptional team.

Whether you have experience in OOSH, schools, sport, youth work or are currently studying education or a related field, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential Criteria

- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check
- Completion of the National Child Safety Training (Geccko) or willingness to complete prior to commencement
- Understanding of Child Protection Mandatory Reporting requirements
- Commitment to Child Safe Standards and child safeguarding practices
- Experience working with children aged 5–12 years
- Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, proactive and professional




- Skills or interests in areas such as sport, craft, cooking, STEM, performing arts or group games
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is highly regarded

Desirable Qualifications

- Diploma in Children's Services or Outside School Hours Care
- Bachelor of Education or currently studying Education, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Counselling or Early Childhood
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
- Experience working in OOSH, schools, vacation care, sport or youth programs
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place

About the Role As an educator you will:

- Provide high-quality care for children from Kindergarten to Year 6
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities based on children's interests
- Support children's learning, wellbeing and inclusion
- Assist children with additional needs to fully participate in the program
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Set up and pack away activities and assist with maintaining a safe environment
- Complete observations and evaluations linked to My Time, Our Place
- Follow all child protection, health and safety policies and procedures

Availability Applicants should be available for a minimum of 3–4 shifts per week.

School Term

- Morning shifts: 7:00am–9:30am
- Afternoon shifts: 2:00pm–6:00pm

School Holidays

- Various shifts available Monday–Friday
- Availability during Vacation Care is essential.
