Job Description
Quantity Surveyor - Civil Land Development (Procurement Focus)
$120,000 - $160,000 + Super | Permanent Role | South or North of the River
A well-established civil contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the procurement function across a portfolio of residential subdivision and land development projects throughout Perth.
This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil construction, subdivisions or groundworks who enjoys the commercial and technical aspects of quantity measurement and procurement support. It would also suit UK or Irish Quantity Surveyors or Estimators from a civil engineering or groundworks background looking to establish themselves within the WA market.
Initially, the role will be based from the company's Byford office while you become familiar with the business, systems and project teams. Following this onboarding period, there is flexibility to work from the company's Osborne Park satellite office, making the opportunity suitable for candidates living either north or south of the river.
The Role
Working alongside the commercial and procurement teams, you'll be responsible for producing accurate quantity take-offs and material schedules that support purchasing activities across multiple civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed take-offs and measurements from construction drawings.
- Quantify materials for sewer, drainage,
stormwater, roadworks, earthworks and associated civil infrastructure.
- Produce accurate material schedules to support procurement and purchasing.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation to ensure quantity accuracy.
- Liaise with project engineers, estimators and procurement personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with pricing exercises and tender submissions where required.
About You
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within civil construction.
- Background in land development, subdivisions, roadworks, utilities or groundworks is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and materials.
- Excellent measurement and quantity take-off skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Full Australian working rights.
