Job Purpose The role of the Operations Manager is to manage, plan and control the allocated projects to ensure safe, compliant and cost-effective delivery for the client. This is to be achieved by actively leading the team ensuring safety, schedule, profitability and client satisfaction meet client and UGL Regional Linx expectations. Achievement is through the application of valuable business operating practices and the provision of sound, professional leadership and management.

A proactive, performance and results orientated style is key in this role,



this is all to be enacted under the guidance of the visions and values of UGL Regional Linx The Operations Manager will lead the team across the projects by establishing a close and productive relationship with the client and focused on continuously improving the efficiency of the operation.

Key Responsibilities The safe delivery of projects to meet schedule, budget and performance requirements Management of the project costs, revenue, margins, with regular cost to complete reviews undertaken and reported to management

Clear understanding of the risks and opportunities within the project/s and treatment measures required to mitigate risks

Ensure the quality of delivered product and or services is fit for use and all required documentation is completed according to UGL Regional Linx and Client requirements

Report project status to the customer and provide regular communications in regard to any day to day issues relating to the project/s.

Management of the workforce undertaking the project, both UGL Regional Linx team and subcontractors

Authorise project related manufacturing, procurement and expense requests in accordance with the delegation policy.

Recommend purchase agreements and sub-contracts for all suppliers/sub-contractors.

Direct project training-program requirements.

Direct project organisational structure and lead behaviours. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the customer at necessary levels within their organisation.

Identify the legislative,



industrial, political, cultural and economic environment within which the contract would be performed and the impact of this.

Establish clear communication, solid lines of control and delegation to sub-ordinates and actively create and maintain a culture of openness, responsiveness, honest, ethics and responsibility across the team

Support the continuous risk management of operations

Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements

Qualifications

10 years of relevant experience in a leadership capacity within rail project and operations delivery and or leadership roles, with a significant applied contextual experience in delivering high value high risk O&M; projects. Bachelor engineering qualification and/or extensive experience appropriate to the responsibilities of the position.

Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level within the rail operations/construction/contracting/maintenance industry.

Extensive experience and managing and leading a team of people.

Extensive experience in the preparation and management of budgets and contracts Diversity
