Valrose is searching for an Oracle specialist with deep experience in production database migration or modernisation projects to join our client.
What you’ll be doing...
- Assessing Oracle database environments and application dependencies
- Designing and delivering database migration strategies
- Using enterprise migration and replication tooling
- Supporting data mapping, schema changes and database conversion
- Reviewing SQL, PL/SQL, indexing and query performance
- Planning data validation, rollback and production cutover
- Troubleshooting issues across the database, application and infrastructure layers
- Working with technical teams and senior stakeholders
- Producing migration plans, technical documentation and delivery guidance
What you’ll bring to the role...
- Your substantial hands-on Oracle database experience
- Your strong SQL and PL/SQL capability
- Your experience leading production database migrations
- Your hands-on experience with database migration, replication or data movement tools
- Your ability to identify dependencies between applications and database logic
- Your experience supporting testing, implementation and production cutover
- Your ability to work at both the architecture and implementation levels
Your experience with the below would be highly regarded...
- PostgreSQL experience
- Heterogeneous database migration experience
- Cloud-hosted or managed database platforms
- Change data capture and ongoing replication
- Schema conversion or database restructuring
- Migration automation or scripting
- Consulting or systems integration experience
