VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Painting Trades Worker to join Gill Prestige Painting Pty Ltd in Tarneit. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.

Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painting Trades Worker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and decorative finishes, and delivering high-quality workmanship across residential and commercial projects. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining workplace health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Erect scaffolding and ladders and place drop sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint splatter.
- Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and sanding and sealing surfaces before painting.
- Select and prepare paints by mixing pigments, oils, thinners, and drying additives to achieve the required colours and finishes.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Hang wallpaper, ensuring accurate pattern matching and neatly trimmed edges.
- Clean, maintain, and store painting equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
- Repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames where required.




- Lay and repair wall and floor tiles as part of maintenance and finishing work where required.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to ensure work is completed to a high standard and within project deadlines.

Performance Appraisal: Three months after the starting date, then half yearly or when required.

Qualification & Requirements:

- Relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating or a related trade, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Painting Trades Worker in residential and/or commercial environments.
- Sound knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, colour matching, and finishing methods.
- Ability to safely use painting tools, spray equipment, scaffolding, and ladders.
- Robust attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Current White Card and a valid driver's licence are desirable.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience as a Painting Trades Worker.
