We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Forklift Technician to join our workshop team. This is a full-time, four-year apprenticeship where you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. Working alongside fully qualified field and workshop technicians, you will learn to service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of material handling equipment, including electric, LPG, and diesel forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Conduct repairs and component overhauls under the supervision of qualified technicians.
- Complete TAFE blocks and logbook requirements diligently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Genuine passion for mechanical work, electronics, and problem-solving.
- Completion of Year 11 or 12 (completion of a pre-apprenticeship course is highly regarded but not mandatory).
- Mechanical aptitude or hands-on hobbies (e.g., working on cars, bikes, or machinery).
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Reliable work ethic with excellent punctuality.
- Current driver’s licence, or progress towards obtaining one.
- Earn while you learn with fully funded TAFE training and paid study time.
- Clean, modern workshop equipped with specialized diagnostic tools.
- Structured mentoring from experienced, trade-qualified professionals.
- Explicit career progression paths into field service or specialized technical roles upon completion.
- Supplied uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
