Are you a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, enjoys solving complex payroll challenges, and genuinely cares about creating a great employee experience? We're looking for an experienced Payroll Experience Lead to take ownership of payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand. Working alongside a trusted outsourced payroll provider, you'll ensure payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time, while continuously improving processes and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you'll influence payroll governance, lead process improvements, support major people initiatives, and become the go-to expert for payroll across the region.
What you'll be doing
- Lead end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand through an outsourced payroll model.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time and in line with Awards, Enterprise Agreements, employment contracts and relevant legislation.
- Partner with Finance, People teams and external payroll providers to deliver an exceptional payroll experience.
- .Manage statutory obligations including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover, KiwiSaver and New Zealand Inland Revenue requirements.
- Review payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals and reporting to ensure robust financial controls.
- .Oversee complex payroll calculations including terminations, redundancies, long service leave, parental leave, salary packaging and off-cycle payments.
- Support annual remuneration reviews, incentive payments and payroll-related projects.
- Maintain payroll master data and oversee time and attendance processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across payroll systems, processes and governance.
- Partner with internal and external auditors while maintaining strong compliance and documentation standards.
- Work closely with system vendors on enhancements, upgrades, integrations and future payroll initiatives.
About you You'll bring strong technical payroll capability along with the confidence to build trusted relationships across the business. We're looking for someone who has:
- Extensive payroll experience across both Australia and Recent Zealand.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover and Current Zealand payroll requirements.
- Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll provider.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large database.
- Strong attention to detail and a naturally analytical mindset.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with payroll, time and attendance and HRIS platforms.
- SuccessFactors experience highly desirable.
- Must be able to start immediately.
