Afrimat Industries (Pty) Ltd, Lichtenburg has a vacancy for a:

PCS Technician

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

- Diploma / degree in Automation, Information Technology, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering Low Current or similar qualification.
- Reading and interpretation of P&ID; and Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
- Code B driver’s license
- 5 years’ experience in PLC Programming and in the instrumentation field
- Knowledge of Computer and Server Hardware/Software and Fault finding
- Knowledge of ABB 800x DCS, Siemens S5, Siemens S7
- Knowledge of Control Networks UTP, Fibre optic, Profibus, Modbus, Switches
- Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

- Complete tasks assigned on the basis of priority & plant availability
- Initiate and complete Work Orders and ensure timely sign off / close off for completed work along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required
- Ensure PLC Room is kept in optimal state e.g. Clean Power(UPS), Temperature (Air-Conditioning),




- Support software Plant Supervision System for the operation of the plant
- The writing of PLC programmes to automate the plant
- Optimise existing controls and associated software to have optimum running conditions of the plant
- Upgrade existing system for improved efficiencies
- Establish and compile a functional diagram register for S5 Programs
- Keep Existing Functional Specification documentation up to date
- Keep software backups up to date
- Maintain the integrity of all software and code within the systems
- Ensure software and code falls within safety limits for all plant equipment and processes
- Maintain an accurate Change Control System
- Ensure pre-start checklists are available and updated for his/her plant section
